Intense wine, easily identifiable to the Montsant wine region

TASTING NOTES

Color: Charmian Negre is deep cherry red with violet flecks, bright and clean.

Nose: Ripe fruits appear very quickly: strawberries, blackcurrants and blackberries, followed by smoky oak notes, vanilla and cinnamon and some pine oil, menthol and eucalyptus nuances.

Palate: dense wine, with marked tannins perfectly round and achieved and a hint of acidity which accompanies a long and pleasant finish.

WINEMAKING INFORMATION

60% Grenache, 30% Carignan and 10% Syrah.

Vineyards: Between 20 and 50 year old vines. The different types of soils of slate, limestone, gravels and sand give Charmian Negre a richness of aromas that is clearly Identifiable to the D.O. Montsant.

Harvest: The Grenache and the Syrah are harvested from the first two weeks of September and the first week of October. The Carignan is not harvested until the end of October.

Climate: Snow in winter, rainfall in the spring and dry heat in the summer. These are perfect conditions for uniform ripening and sugar concentration.

Elaboration: the three varieties of grape ferment separately at a temperature between 24 º C and 26 º C and macerate for about 10-14 days. Once the malolactic fermentation completed the wine is aged for 6 months in new French and American oak.

Alcohol Content: 14º // Total Acidity: 5.60g/l (TH2) // Residual Sugar: 1 g/lpH: 3.52
