Ninety years earlier, on the 4th of July 1518, William II of Pernstein and Helfstein granted brewing privileges to forester Jež of Seloutky who owned Green Tree House in Prostějov town square. Subsequently our distillery, The Green Tree, was established. After receiving a brewing license, the quality of distillates improved, and Prostějov was recognized as a city producing the finest of rye spirits. The unique and special recipes of our legendary brands are our heritage and have been carefully handed down from generation to generation. Thanks to the dedicated and careful approach of our predecessors and their successors we can proudly say that we have the longest history of rye distillate crafting in Europe. In 2018 we celebrated the 500 years anniversary of The Green Tree Distillery establishment. |
