Tasting notes of winery's winemaker

Traditional red wine making process, where the must (pulp) ferments together with the grape skins and carefully selected yeasts. The wine ferments in controlled temperature stainless steel containers, then matures for a long time in French oak barrels, and finally it is bottled and stored in controlled climate rooms.

This wine is made in Piedmont, in Valle Roncati, a valley in the Novara Hills at the foothills of Monte Rosa. The acidic glacial soil is rich with clay, sand and hundreds of different minerals.

Fara is one of the most prestigious appellations of Piedmont. The name comes from one of the two villages where the wine is made: Fara and Briona, where this wine was already popular in the Middle Ages among nobles and high clergy.

This red wine has a color between deep ruby and garnet, and a rich bouquet with notes of licorice and red fruits and hints of spices. Saline, bone-dry taste and velvety tannins give this wine an easy-drinking palate and a lingering elegant finish.

This wine is exceptionally long-lasting and if stored appropriately, it will preserve all its characteristics for over 10 years after bottling.

Excellent with red meat, game and sharp cheeses.

Ideal serving temperature:

18-20 degrees Celsius. Best if aired for one hour before drinking.
